THE SMITHS Shakespears Sister (Superb and incredibly rare 1985 UK Rough Trade set of A and B side metal 'mother' stampers for the release and includes 3 tracks Shakespears Sister b/w What She Said & Stretch Out And Wait. Quite probably the only existing complete set left in existence as these were normally destroyed once the production run was complete. Complete with the original cardboard stamper box. PLATING

Plating refers to the process of making metal stampers from Lacquer. The Lacquers are silver coated and electroplated to make a negative image of the record in the 'male & female' sense, meaning the grooves in the plates are raised where the grooves in the records are etched.

Plating then involves making 'Mothers' from the stampers. 'Mothers' are a metal version of the finished record and are limited to less than a handful for any given release.
