Tracklisting & More Information

Mel Bush was a legendary concert promoter in the 1970's and 80's. He promoted such infamous concerts as Bowie's Aladdin Sane tour (where Ziggy 'retired'), Queens early tours and Led Zeppelin at Earls Court.

With each of the acts he promoted, once a successful tour or concert was over, Mel Bush would commission a commemorative plaque or mirror as a souvenir of the event, and presented to the artist.

The plaque itself is a landscape design measuring 15" x 8" and was commissioned back in '73.

The plaque is stylishly screen printed in just one colour, black. It is a simple but effective design that is eye-catching. The promoters details are at the top of the plaque with the band name printed in large black letters dominating most of the item. The venue details and date - Sunday July 1st 1973 are printed at the bottom.

This was supposed to be the first concert to take place at the huge Earls Court venue in London and Slade were seen as courageous for taking such a risk, however David Bowie beat them to it by booking the first night of his Aladdin Sane tour at the venue on May 12th.

Despite its age this plaque remains in really nice condition, with few signs of patina and some light scuffs. A stunning item.
