CHARLES MINGUS JAZZ WORKSHOP Duke's Choice (1969 UK 5-track stereo LP, issued as Volume 11 in the Jazz Masters series & recorded in New York in October 1957. Players featured include Clarence Shaw, Jimmy Knepper, Danny Richmond & more, a greatlong player that formed an important segment of Mingus's development as a composer whilst reflecting the way jazz was both expanding its techniques & rediscovering its own traditions at the tail end of the '50s. The textured picture sleeve shows minimal sheflwear & the vinyl looks barely played)
