ORNETTE COLEMAN DOUBLE QUARTET Free Jazz (1963 US second issue mono LP on the plum & red Atlantic label with black 'fan' logo to the right, first put to tape in 1960. Free Jazz is a milestone in spontaneous group improvisation, causing a greatdeal of controversy at the time; could this really be jazz? A fascinating, radical document, housed in a pasted laminate gatefold die-cut sleeve with Jackson Pollock artwork inside & catalogue inner. The cover is EX- with mild edge wear/discolouration and a tiny rip/tear to opening edge. The vinyl is clean & grades Excellent with light signs of play only)
