SERGE GAINSBOURG Aux Armes Et Caetera (2009 US 12-track LP pressed on 180gram VINTL, originally released in 1979, this is the first [and best] of Gainsbourg's two forays into reggae. Recorded in Jamaica with some of reggae's biggest namesincluding players/producers Sly & Robbie. Probably Gainsbourg's last truly classic album, 'Aux Armes Et Caetera' is full of dubbed out tracks and his signature speak-sing drawl. His reworking of the French national anthem in the title trackearned him death threats from members of the French right-wing, adding to his controversial image. Sultry, stony, dubby, jams from one of the 70s most important artists, housed in a picture sleeve. The sleeve shows very little wear and the vinyl is 'as new' 4M171))
