Rubber Soul - 1st - Loud Cut

THE BEATLES Rubber Soul (Very Rare 1965 Danish 14-track MONO vinyl LP with -1 'Loud Cut' matrices, indicating it to be one of the very first pressngs, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The Danish used UK stampers but the vinyl was pressedin Denmark whilst the sleeve is UK printed. Both the sleeve & vinyl on this copy are in superb condition with just a few hairline cosmetic marks on the vinyl visible mainly just to Side 2 and only upon very close inspection on Side 1. There is alittle blemishing near the edges of the label but this would have been present at the time of pressing, only the lightest of any actual spindle marks from play are evident. The sleeve is truly stunning, showing the original Danish owner's stamp inside, looking as close to a new copy fit for the shop shelves as you're likely to see - A fantastic copy of this extremely hard to find Scandinavian fab-four pressing! History

The 'Loud Cut' issue (Matrices ending -1) had a slightly different studio mix to the more familiar version. This was withdrawn after a very brief pressing run & the mix was corrected & the stampers re-pressed & changed to have a matrix ending in -4.
It's not really 'louder' but the mix itself has the tonal qualities of louder music with some bass enhancement & a slightly thinner, edgier vocal balance as a consequence of having a little too much compression applied at the mastering stage.
This, given the pressure on the factories at the time, was not a smooth transition & copies do exist with the 'loud cut' -1 matrix on side one & the re-mixed -4 matrix on side two. Also copies exist with 'normal' side one & 'loud cut' side two.
This copy is one of the very first pressed with the -1 matrices on both sides. By the end of 1965, all of the presses had the -4 matrices.
