THE THELONIOUS MONK ORCHESTRA At Town Hall (1960 UK 6-track mono LP on the rough textured silver on blue Riverside label with 'reels & mic' logo, recorded live in New York City on February 28th 1959 with Donald Byrd on Trumpet, EddieBert on Trombone, Phil Woods on Alto, Charlie Rouse on Tenor, Pepper Adams on Baritone, Robert Northern on French Horn, Jay McAllister on Tuba, Sam Jones on Bass & Art Taylor on Drums. This amazing session was hailed as a pinnacle at the time & even thespace of nearly fifty years has done nothing to dim the brightness of the light that Monk shone into the gloom that February night. Both the front laminated flipback picture sleeve & the vinyl are in amazing condition with almost no signs of age at all - a spectacular copy! RLP12-300)
