This British jazz gem is divided into 'At Home' and 'Away' halves. Recorded in EMI Studios on February 8th that year, 'At Home' features Tubby Hayes, Shake Keane, Jimmy Deuchar, Ronnie Scott, Terry Shannon, Ray Dempsey and Kenny Clare. The song 'Ricardo' is credited to Tubby Hayes and 'Last Minute Bossa Nova' composed by Ronnie Scott, the four songs in total pressed here on a one-sided acetate.

'Away' delivers an equally formidable roster of jazz talents from the US, recorded with Vic in Hollywood a month earlier with Shelly Manne, Bud Shank, Laurindo Almeida & ex-pat Victor Feldman, to name but a few. This half was pressed in New York on a double-sided acetate [2 songs each side] with custom studio labels and hand annotated details on both the disc and the die-cut 'Audiodiscs' sleeve with the Madison Avenue address.

Pressed in tiny quantities for sonic review purposes, acetates like these are not ten-a-penny! This copy is particularly unique for two reasons - the beautiful condition of both the discs plus the fact this an archive copy direct from the late bandleader's vast and personal collection. A real gem!
