JULIAN'S TREATMENT A Time Before This (Rare 1970 US 13-track Sci-Fi stereo LP by Julian Savarin with his band, featuring the haunting vocals of Cathy Pruden & some sterling organ & mellotron work by Julian, resulting in an atmospheric yet not-quite-prog psychedelic vision of a future inhabited by blue skinned people & megalomaniac aliens. Sounds right up my alley! Julian initially envisaged a concept trilogy, with the second album 'Waiters on the Dance' finally being issued in 1973. Sadly it never did come to fruition as the third album was never made. Nonetheless, Julian went on to become a very succesful Sci-Fi writer, so all was not lost. If you like psychedelic progtastic sci-fi rock, then this is an album for you. The gatefold picture sleeve has artwork exclusive to the US release which is pretty mindblowing in itself. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl too shows just a couple of light cosmetic surface marks - Not bad for nearly forty years! DL75224)
