JOHN COLTRANE QUINTET Second Night In Tokyo (1977 Japanese-only 7-track mono triple LP box set, featuring the entire concert from 11th July '66 at the Sankei Hall in Tokyo with Pharoah Sanders on sax, Alice Coltrane on piano, Jimmy Garrison onbass & Rashied Ali on drums, including an eleven minute interview with Trane. This wonderful set includes a 12-page illustrated booklet & an English/Japanese insert with notes on the concert by David Wald. Recorded almost a year to the day before his untimely death, this rare concert shows an artist at the top of his game with a band so comfortable with the material that they all breathe as one. The packaging is Excellent with a little bit of paper scuffing & age wear around the edges & the vinyl discs are Near Mint with few signs of play YB-8508~10)
