JOHN PHILLIPS Jack Of Diamonds (2010 issue UK Expanded Edition 18-track digitally remastered CD album - After the release of 'Wolfking', John worked on a number of diverse film and record projects, including sessions for a second solo album, which he recorded intermittently in 1972 and 1973. Although that album was never completed, the album was a major departure from the country-rock of Wolfking and pop sound of The Mamas & The Papas, pushing a more urban, gritty, jazz-rock style, reflective of time spent in New York with members of Andy Warhol's Factory. The unreleased 13-song album comes expanded with 5 Bonus Recordings featuring songs from some of the other projects John was working on between 1970 and 1973, including songs intended for the final Mamas & Papas' studio album, 'People Like Us', the soundtrack to the Robert Altman film Phillips co-produced with Lou Adler, 'Brewster McCloud', and an original film and theatre project called 'Space [Man On The Moon)', produced by Andy Warhol)
