VARIOUS The Jazz Loft Project (2009 US 288-page softback advance uncorrected book proof by Sam Stephenson which was published on the 24th November 2009 - featuring photographs taken by W. Eugene Smith one of the masters of twentieth century photography, he lived at 821 Sixth Avenue a loft building in New York City's wholesale flower district which was a site of famous after-hour jazz jam sessions. During the eight years that he lived there [between 1957-1965] he took forty thousand pictures, featuring images of Charles Mingus, Sonny Rollins, Thelonious Monk, Zoot Sims among pimps, prostitutes, cops dealers and drug addicts along with Doris Duke, Salvador Dali and more - with 232 duotone photographs.
