BOB MARLEY Reggae Sunsplash '81 - A Tribute To Bob Marley (1982 US-pressed 16-track double-LP set on the Elektra label - the year is 1981, a legend has just passed away leaving a legacy of talented, powerful protest songs and a new icon for Blackpower and identity. What better way to tribute an international icon than to hold a festival in his honour, with Steel Pulse, Dennis Brown, Black Uhuru and Rita Marley with The Three I's performing an immense show which is a powerful homage.The Wailers also back up the Melody Makers and Eek-A-Mouse on Wa Do Dem. This copy was issued in Japan but remained on the US pressing, as such it has a cool obi-strip with a Marley cartoon to the top and a lyric booklet which provides a brief biography of each act in Japanese. Gatefold picture sleeve which features some light marks to the back of the sleeve but the vinyl is in pristine condition which begs to be played for an immense treat to the ears! P-5607)
