DAVID BYRNE Music For The Knee Plays (1982 Japanese 12-track LP including Japanese insert, picture sleeve & obi-strip. David was invited to compose the twelve song piece by avant-garde theatre director Robert Wilson as part of his twelve hour'The Civil Wars' opera. His staging for the Opera evoked Japanese Kabuki theatre, but David was clearly inspired by the sound of New Orleans & gospel music, creating an interesting & refreshing blend of traditional & modern themes EMS-91127)
