THE BEATLES The Beatles Mono Collection (Very rare indeed 1982 UK TEN LP boxed set of the MONO variants of all the albums from 'Please Please Me' to 'Yellow Submarine'. Primarily intended for export, this set was limited to just ONE thousand individually numbered copies, each with a certificate of authentication inside. To give you some idea of how rare this is, the recent 'Beatles In Mono' CD box set was limited to TEN thousand in the UK & still sold out within amonth. Each LP in the set has lovely retro style Black & Yellow Parlophone labels, with the exception of Yellow Submarine & The White Album, which have Apple labels. The sleeves are the later style non-laminated, non-flipback, versions but The White Album retains the embossed 'The Beatles' lettering. This particular copy is in a black individually numbered box, although most were red. Why there were two box colours is open to speculation, but it may be that the red boxes were exported & the black were for UK sales. Not that it really matters but it would be interesting to get a definitive answer on this! The condition of the box [individually numbered 637] is superb with very little sign of edge wear or scuffing. Similar to 'The Beatles Collection' blue box, this also has embossed lettering, but in silver. All the albums inside are near 'as new' with perfect mint vinyl. An incredible set & the first copy of this that we have ever seen! BM1)
