MESSRS. MORTON & SHEPARD A Good Joke (An astonishing German 7" historical artifact recorded in 1900 or 1901 onto a hard rubber base, manufactured in Hannover by Emile Berliner [the first inventor to actually develop a usable disc record technology and founder of 'The Gramophone Company'] with recessed & possibly engraved lettering, recorded in London and spoken in English. This disc plays at about 55rpm and has survived one hundred & twenty years. We even play tested thedisc in the office with great care and what we heard can only be described as voices from the dead...! Hi-Fi it isn't, as it was designed for a bamboo needle and pressed into hard rubber, but to have survived so long and still be playable is nothing short of a miracle) *This is far & away the oldest record we have ever stocked*
