R.S.O. BERLIN conducted by LORIN MAAZEL Music For The Royal Fireworks / Water Music (1966 UK stereo LP with the first side devoted to the 'Fireworks' Suite, which had a memorable public debut involving misbehaving pyrotechnics & much panic in London's Green Park in 1749. The second side is the familiar 'Water Music' suite, which is actually a collection of works, written and perfomed between 1717 & 1740 for assorted Royal 'Water Parties' held on the Thames. To this day, nobody is actually sure how many pieces comprise the 'suite' or what order it goes in, so this is one interpretation. Apart from a split to the centre of the bottom seam, the fully laminated picture sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with a small amount of corner creasing and age discoloration, the vinyl displays some faint hairlines and just light signs of play. A nice copy of these fine eighteenth century works)
