THE BEATLES Help! (A peculiar one, this. Here we have a 1969 [or thereabouts] UK third issue WIDE CENTRED 7" vinyl single. Of particular note, apart from the wide centre, is that this is the mysterious third issue where EMI for some reason reverted to the first 'PARLOPHONE' perimeter text label, after the 'GRAMOPHONE' print of the second issue. Whether they found a batch of first issue labels, who can say ? The vinyl is noticably thinner than the first issue, so it's fairlyeasy to see that this copy is not from 1965, first design label or not. Personally, I've never seen a wide centred sixties Parlophone label before and it certainly isn't a contract pressing. The vinyl remains in VG+/EX- condition with just a few light surface scuffs to show for its life. There is a small nick out of the edge of the vinyl, but before the run in groove, that you often see on later sixties & early seventies 'knife edge' pressed thinner vinyl singles, giving another clue as to the vintage of this strange record. Post 1966 solid centres of this single are rare enough, but this ? An oddity for sure R5305)
