VARIOUS The Story Of The Blues (70s UK graduated orange label 32-track double LP compiled by Paul Oliver, featuring rare original Blues tracks from 1927-1968, intended as a companion piece to his book of the same name. The selection opens withthe Fra-Fra Tribesmen recorded in Ghana, nothing but vocals over a fiddle & rattle! The discs then take you through the early works, chronologically, of Charley Patton, Leadbelly, Robert Johnson & some obscure names - Blinding stuff. The gatefoldsleeve shows minimal wear & the vinyl still looks barely played)
