U2 War (Super rare PAIR of one-sided LP acetates for the original 1983 vinyl album, cut at the Town House recording studio in Goldhawk Road, London. The labels are hand annotated "WAR" U.2. SIDE ONE and "WAR" U.2. SIDE TWO. The plain white outer sleeve, now off-white, has been addressed to 'Johnny' with the note 'This is the record for Jump Testing etc. Ta TREVOR'. These notes were penned by Island executive Trevor Wyatt. Each acetate remains in FAIR to GOOD condition. The playing surface, as is common with methyl cellulose lacquer, has oxidized over the course of the past 30+ years which results in significant surface noise throughout. However, this is a supremely rare and collectable artefact, not an audiophile record for repeated play. As far as we can tell this is also the first time a complete pair of acetates for War has ever been offered for sale!)
