THE BEATLES Membership Card 1961 Season (Incredibly rare original 1961 UK 2½" x 4" Membership Card Booklet for the legendary Cavern Club in Mathew Street, Liverpool. Apart from a tiny ink stain to the bottom corners and a name written inside the front cover, this remains nearly as it did over fifty years ago when it was issued. This was the very first year that The Beatles played The Cavern and long before Cavern Club membership was common and queues stretched around the block to see the band. In fact, for their first gig at lunchtime on February 9th that year, for which they were paid £5, the seventeen year old George Harrison was nearly refused admission as he was wearing Jeans. Luckily, after persuading the doorman he was part of the band, he was finally allowed in and the rest is history)
