LED ZEPPELIN Electric Magic - Wembley Pool (Genuine & Highly Sought After 1971 UK 39" x 30" Poster for the Saturday 20th November 1971 concert held at the Empire Pool in Wembley as part of the famous "Electric Magic" shows from Led Zeppelin'sWinter 1971 United Kingdom Tour [11 November - 15 December 1971]. Taking place immediately after the release of the band's fourth album, all tickets sold out despite going on sale less than a week before the commencement of the tour. It has been suggested that this tour confirmed the status of Led Zeppelin's supremacy in the United Kingdom rock marketplace. This highly desirable poster was designed by Paper Tiger & the artwork is exclusive, drawn in an incredibly bold & colourful comic book style with Art Noveau type decoration to reflect the nature of the shows. The five hour "Electric Magic" shows included vaudeville circus acts with plate spinners, trapeze artists & performing pigs dressed in policeman's uniforms(!), & incorporated supporting acts such as Stone The Crows, which was a rare event for Led Zeppelin at this point in their career. Use of the famous "four symbols" is depicted in the poster's design, as this was the first concert tour on which the band visually projected the symbols. The wonderful psychedelic imagery has the wording "Buffalo Concert Presentations In Assocation With Peter Grant..." at the top & "All Seats 75p... Tickets Available At All Branches Of Harlequin Records" at the bottom (yes, just 75p!!), with the venue, date & 'Plus Supporting Acts' as well as the Paper Tiger credit bottom right. An example last sold at Bonhams in December 2015 for a far higher asking price. This poster is in remarkable condition. The thick paper has kept the colours as rich & vivid as the day it was made. There are eight small staple pin holes to show its history where it was once displayed for promotional purposes, & some corner creasing from handling. There is no writing or any major blemishes to the artwork & just a couple of small & minor edge tears to mention. There is a 1.5" vertical hairline tear in the bottom right edge by the word 'Graphics', with all text legible, & two small half inch tears by the left side edge near the bottom. The poster is unbacked & stored rolled. Seriously outstanding, this is simply one of the best posters we have ever seen. Highly prized & collectable, there can only be a small number of these original posters left in circulation & rarely do they appear on the market. We only have one!)
