KENNY BURRELL Midnight Blue (Rare 1963 US first press 7-track mono LP on the 'New York USA' address label, with the 'ear' markings & the 'Van Gelder' stamps in the run-outs & a deep groove on side two. This is one of Kenny's most well known &best loved works for Blue Note, expertly backed by tenor saxophonist Stanley Turrentine, bassist Major Holley, drummer Bill English, & Ray Barretto on conga. This copy originates from the private collection of a former staff member for Dobellsrecord shop in Charing Cross, London & the pasted picture sleeve has the tax import stickers still attached on the back. The cover grades VG. There is a minor corner crease & some tape residue along the opening from past reinforcement, plus a few splits in the paper along the top edge & corners, with all text clearly legible, including along the spine, & no writing. There is very little discolouring with this example & the artwork looks fantastic. The vinyl is super clean & grades EX/EX- with just a few faint paper hairline scuffs & superb sound performance BLP4123)
