THE BEATLES Rubber Soul (1965 UK first pressing 14-track mono vinyl LP with 'The Gramophone Co' and 'Sold In The UK' label text. The Side One matrix is XEX 579-1, confirming that this is the rare LOUD CUT variant, complete with Emitex inner, front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The interesting thing about this example, it was obviously exported and sold in Nairobi, as has a shop address stamped on the back! PMC1267)

The sleeve shows just a little light shelfwear with a bit of edge scuffing & minor creasing to the laminate, with a perfectly legible spine & only minor discoularation to the unlaminated back evident.

As stated above, the back also has a Nairobi shop address clearly stamped.

Although the labels have few spindle marks on both sides, the labels are bright and clearly legible.

The matrices in the run-outs read:

Side Two XEX580-1

The vinyl shows a some light surface marks, but thanks to the quality of EMI's heavyweight pressings of the sixties, these do not greatly spoil the playback, although a little background noise may be noticeable at times, along with the odd click. The vinyl is graded VG/VG+.

All in all an extremely respectable, very playable, copy of this desirable first UK 'Loud Cut' pressing at a seriously advantageous price!
