This recording combines Tchaikovsky's famous festival overture, the '1812' with his less well known Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture and Slavonic March. Although the 1812 is presented here as originally conceived with chorus, bells and cannon, the extensive line notes focus on the music, not the special effects. The fully laminated picture sleeve, with notes in German, English & French, shows minimal shelfwear and the vinyl remains nerar 'as new' with little sign of play, making this well regarded recording of the 1812 a mouthwatering prospect for all Tchaikovsky fans SLPMACB00103)
