OLIVER NELSON The Blues And The Abstract Truth (1976 UK stereo issue of the 1961 6-track vinyl LP, on the black Impulse label. The title was later echoed by Leon Thomas in his Blues & The Soulful Truth mini-masterpiece. Blues & The Abstract Truth captures Nelson at his most modern alongside Eric Dolphy, Freddie Hubbard, George Barrow, Bill Evans, Paul Chambers & Roy Haynes, & was clearly an influence on future modernists [such as Thomas]. Comes housed in a US-printed pastedgatefold sleeve. The sleeve shows light wear with a 2" seam split to the top, whilst the vinyl appears barely played IMPL8014)
