THE ARANBEE POP SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA directed by KEITH RICHARDS Todays Pop Symphony (1999 UK Collector's Edition remastered issue of the 1966 10-track LP pressed on 180 gram vinyl featuring a selection of natty tunes given the symphonic treatment, an Andrew Loog Oldham production for his then newly created Immediate label. Housed in a hype-stickered ipicture sleeve featuring a wonderful set of caricatures of Keith, 'that other band', Sonny & Cher, Beethoven and Mozart. The sleeveshows only minor edgewear and the vinyl looks barely played NEMLP411)

Background:
Andrew Loog Oldham had just started up the Immediate label but at the time was short of big name attractions. One thing that he did have access to was the Rolling Stones and their song catalogue. 'Ping' - One bright idea later & the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra was re-christened The Aranbee Pop Symphony Orchestra and given to the tender care of the abstemious Keith Richard for creating this LP.
Given that the Rolling Stones were also involved, jointly or severally, with the ALOO, this was not such a quantum leap as you might think.
