Condition:-

Here we have a very nice find for the Blue Note collector. It's Art Blakey at his peak! What's nice with this example is that it has everything a 'first press' collector needs, as mentioned. The cover also retains that deep blue colour in the design. The catalogue inner is clean & unmarked. This cover grades Very Good. There are some unfortunate chips out of the paper along the top edge. There are also some chips along the bottom edge but far less & other small signs of paper fracturing with age but no heavy seam splits. All print remains clearly legible including along the spine. The back panel is striking & there is some faint foxing by an edge with the original UK tax import stickers attached.

The labels are unmarked & the heavyweight vinyl is clean & grades EX/EX-. There are some gentle & light cosmetic signs of play with just the odd paper scuff over time - playback is superb for this first pressing with the all important Plastylite 'ear' logo in the run-outs. Although not mint, this remains a very pleasing example & a fantastic album through & through.
