SIMON WICKHAM-SMITH & RICHARD YOUNGS 20 Years (2010 US limited edition FOUR-DISC set celebrating 20 years of music from Richard and Simon comprising the newly-recorded LP which is one of the heaviest, most uncompromising records of Richard andSimon's long career; consisting of 8 electro-acoustic reworkings of their first [unreleased] recording from 1987, and is a blistering set of tracks as wild and weird as anything they've ever recorded. There are also THREE CDs featuring projects which were completed and intended for release by the duo during their prolific 1990's, but fell by the wayside for various reasons: 'SMIRR' featuring 4 epic instrumentals; 'Songphase' has 10 simple, lovely tunes - a reminder of the duo's considerable "trad" songwriting and performing prowess; while 'LIVE!!!' is a head-scratcher of a live album, recorded live in-studio in full on Dada-ist style. The vinyl looks barely within the gatefold picture sleeve while the three CD discs sit in custom-bindered insert [inside the other pocket] with a 16-page booklet with a 3,000+ word interview with Richard and Simon!)
