BLACK SABBATH Hollywood Music Festival (Rare 1970 UK 20
page souvenir brochure for the festival in Newcastle-under-Lyme
on the 23rd-24th May, featuring Black Sabbath, Jose
Feliciano, Traffic, Free, Grateful Dead, Colosseum, Quintessence,
Screaming Lord Sutch and more, with black & white photographs
of the key bands with a small amount of text about each.
Alongside the main attractions it's interesting to see some of the
'lesser' artists on the bill are those whose records go for huge
sums these days, look out for Demon Fuzz, Trader Horne and
Titus Groan! Compere and DJ for the event was none other than
John Peel! Considering this is an item made of paper and is fifty
years old, finding an example is incredibly hard, the cover has
some signs of age, and there are some pen annotations in the
centre [a neat tick next to each band seen!] it remains in a really
nice condition and a wonderful document of the era, you can
almost smell the patchouli oil!)
