Seminal blues recordings originally released as '78s on Modern Records between 1948 and 1952, includes hisdebut recording 'Boogie Chillen', a solo performance featuring, what would become, Hooker trademarks; a part spoken part sung vocal, electric guitar, and those all important rhythmic foot stomps. The sleeve on this copy has a split to the spine but otherwise shows relatively little where, the vinyl is graded EX with just a few light scuffs/hairlines visible - however, these recordings are from the original '78s so there are some 'pops/background noise' audible CLP5157
