KATHLEEN FERRIER Bach & Handel Arias (UK stereo vinyl LP. Originally performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Sir Adrian Boult in 1960, this unique recording added an entirely new stereo orchestra larrangement to a vocal performance made by Kathleen Ferrier only a few weeks before her final performance in 1952. This was achieved through meticulous rehersal and and timing so that the orchestral track synched perfectly with the vocal performance. The result is a far more authentic sound than is typical with more modern stereo remasters of of mono recordings, which tend to by made through manipulation of the orginal tapes, making this probably the best stereo recording of Kathleen Ferrier it is possible to find. The sleeve shows light shelfwear, with a tiny tear to top edge, whilst the vinyl appears unplayed SDD286)
