VARIOUS Gilles Peterson Digs America (2005 UK 16-track triple LP compilation, showcasing Gilles Peterson's encyclopedic knowledge of funk & soul & incredible knack for unearthing gold from dusty old record shops, this time with the focus on the American underground. Includes Darondo's beautiful 'Didn't I' [recently used in Breaking Bad], past jazz-dance favourites such as the Dingwalls banger 'Get Off The Ground' by Baaska & Scavelli, spiritual gems by the likes of Ensemble Al Salaam& rare groove nuggets from Jon Lucien, JR Bailey, 47 Times Its Own Weight & more. The picture sleeve is Very Good with corner creasing & the vinyl is clean & grades VG+/EX- with a few spindle marks & paper hairlines not affecting play. A decent DJ copy at a fair price LHLP047)
