FRED MCDOWELL Mississippi Delta Blues (Circa 1965 US issue of the hard to find 13-track mono vinyl LP on the deep groove black & red Arhoolie label with the small guitar logo, housed in a back pasted card picture sleeve. Wow! what a slice of musical history, prior to this release McDowells recordings had previously only been featured on Alan Lomax LP compilations,making this his first official release. It's raw Delta Blues featuring some astonishingly brilliant performances, recordedin the field by Chris Strachwitz in 1964. This example is still in the open shrink, therefore the sleeve shows only light wear, and the vinyl easily grades as Excellent, with minimal signs of play and retains a wonderful deep sheen - a must for any blues enthusiast F1021)
