ERIC DOLPHY Out To Lunch (Rare 1964 US first press 5-track MONO LP on the 'New York USA' address [non-grooved] label, with 'Van Gelder' stamp & the 'ear' etching both sides of the run-outs. Dolphy's one & only Blue Note session is a major highlight in modern jazz, completed shortly before his untimely passing, performed with Freddie Hubbard, Bobby Hutcherson, Richard Davis & Anthony Williams. Comes housed in the original pasted picture sleeve with the '43 West 61st St.' address on the back & the '27 Years Blue Note' catalogue inner enclosed. The sleeve [VG+] shows some gentle & natural ageing to the panels with a few minor edge & corner scuffs & no writing or tears. All print is clearly legible including the spine & the period UK tax import sticker is attached on the back. The vinyl is nice & clean and would be at least Excellent throughout, save for a medium hairline to Side 2; after playtesting we can confirm this has no effect on play. A vital addition to any serious Jazz collection! BLP4163)
