DAVID BOWIE Ziggy Stardust (Mega rare original 1972 UK fold-out promotional flyer and complete set of transfers which were distributed at Bowie's two debut 'Ziggy Stardust' performances at the Rainbow Theatre in London on the 19th and 20th August 1972. An incredible discovery that we have never seen before in over thirty years buying and selling Bowie memorabilia. The flyer measures 14" x 17" and is printed on glossy colour paper with one side replicating the Ziggy Stardust album artwork with the other 'yellow' side detailing the band, lighting, and gig info etc. The flyer is without doubt an historic document capturing Bowie's career at a crossroads - with the album artwork side signposting the glam era to come while Bowie's school friend George Underwood's design on the 'yellow' side uses cartoon style illustrations very similar to his design for Bowie's 1969 self-titled LP on Philips. Support on the night was an uncredited Roxy Music too! Also included with each flyer was a set of 'tattoo' style skin transfers measuring 3" x 4" and featuring five individual transfers of the 'Ziggy' band as imagined by Underwood. Incredibly, this set are complete and unused fifty-two years on! The reverse side of the transfers includes details of the upcoming 'Ziggy' album and instructions for how to apply those transfers - thankfully, the instructions went unheeded! The condition throughout is magnificent with both the flyer and transfers in exceptional condition. The item would prove a highlight in any Bowie collection and is an incredible archive piece - Highly recommended.
