Recorded between 1967 and 1970 at Duke Reid's Treasure Isle Recording Studios in Kingston, Jamaica, Mr Soul Of Jamaica was the first albumby rocksteady star Alton Ellis, one of the innovators of the genre and given the informal title 'Godfather of Rocksteady'.
