Originally released in 1991, Welcome To Love is one of Pharoah Sanders' most intimate and lyrical recordings. Known for his spiritual and free jazz fire in the 1960s and 70s, here Sanders turns to the American songbook, delivering heartfelt interpretations of classic ballads with his warm, searching tenor tone. The set includes standards such as You Don't Know What Love Is, The Nearness of You, and My One And Only Love, alongside a deeply felt version of Mal Waldron's Soul Eyes. Also featured is a bonus track, Moonlight In Vermont, rounding out a collection that highlights Sanders' extraordinary ability to communicate tenderness and depth through simplicity.
