JOHN LENNON John Lennon's Hat (A beautiful purple velvet hat which once belonged to John Lennon. This piece has great provenance in that it is accompanied by an original letter from the musician Ronnie Hawkins detailing that his friends John & Yoko came to stay with him in 1969 a couple of months after the Live Peace In Toronto concert and left behind this hat, remembering that both of them wore the hat during their 2 week stay in Canada during the Winter. The hat is also supplied with the Hollywood Warehouse COA which states that they obtained the hat directly from Mr Hawkins. The hat itself is purple velvet with olive coloured lining. There are two tags inside, one black with 'Malyard Hats London W1'. The second tag is white with red embroidered 'Peculiar To Mr Fish, 17 Clifford Street London W1' text. The relationship between the Lennons and Ronnie Hawkins is well documented. In addition to appearing in concert and on record together he also accompanied them on the train to Ottawa for their famous visit with Prime Minister Trudeau. Hawkins later toured the world at Lennon's request as a peace emissary for Lennon's 'Love Not War' message. A stunning piece of musical history with excellent provenance)
