THE KINKS Picture Book (2009 Japanese exclusive limited edition 138-track 6-disc SHM-CD [Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players] album set - compiled with the help of Ray Davies, 'Picture Book' is a 6-disc box set ofrarities, live versions and classic originals celebrating one of Britain's most successful and influential bands ever. Comprising the classic hits 'You Really Got Me', 'Lola', 'Waterloo Sunset', 'All Day And All Of The Night' and 'Sunny Afternoon', alongside early demos recorded as The Ravens, mono single versions of 'Waterloo Sunset', 'Lola' & 'Apeman', previously unreleased versions of 'Dedicated Follower of Fashion' & 'Dead End Street' and much more. Beautifully presented in a classic, lift-lid style box complete with a 60-page picture booklet containing sleeve notes written by Peter Doggett with comments by Ray Davies, supplemented with rare photos, memorabilia and an extensive Time Line, sealed with a Japanese text sticker)

The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.
