TASTE / STONE THE CROWS / JAKE HOLMES Polydor Records Present On Tour (Waaaaay back when, in 1970, Polydor records decided to put together a package tour to capitalise on the recent Isle Of Wight festival. Gigging furiously through September & October, these unlikely bedfellows left a sea of admirers in their wake. Rory Gallagher & Maggie Bell became names that cropped up in conversation down the pub. Jake Holmes was always the bridesmaid but never the bride. Despite having his song Dazed & Confused 'borrowed' by first The Yardbirds, then Led Zeppelin & having released several staggeringly good albums, he always managed to avoid the limelight & consequent riches of fame. His talent was far from spent, however, and after thirty years there is a new album out. His meals made it to the table thanks to having penned several commercial jingles including 'Be what you can be in the US Army'. Measuring 6" x 8", this 16-page programme recalls those hectic months on the road as the Polydor Package Tour & is crammed with piccies, information & press reviews with a great arty cover picture. It's also in amazing condition with just a little edge scuffing in places to let you know it's not a repro - Lovely stuff!)
