MILES DAVIS Blue Haze (Rare 1960 UK first press 8-track mono LP on Carlo Krahmer & Peter Newbrook's Esquire label, with 'RVG' etched in the run-offs. Note: Esquire pressed this album to a high standard on heavyweight vinyl & a number of collectors have found these to be of superior quality to their Prestige counterparts. What's extra nice is that these collectable Esquire pressings sport unique artwork for us Brits! Much like his simple but effective 'saxophone' image on Esquire's release of Sonny Rollins' Saxophone Colossus, here Harry Peck gives us a nice criss-cross, spiral effect pattern of a trumpet close-up! Obtained from a one previous owner collection of modern jazz LP rarities of the late fifties, early sixties, this is a top of the line collector's copy. The flipback picture sleeve is front laminated & in Excellent condition. There is no writing & the panels are clean & off white with some minor spots of foxing creeping in. There is one faint corner crease & a bit of chipping to the laminate's bottom edge. The heavyweight vinyl appears Near Mint, perhaps being played just a small handful of times in its life.
