C. P. LEE Like The Night (1998 UK 6" x 9" 192-page softback book documenting the road to the infamous concert at Manchester Free Trade Hall [Circulating in bootleg circles for many years mis-named as 'Live At The Albert Hall'] where, on 17th May 1966, amember of the audience called out 'Judas!' as Dylan was performing his electric set with The Band [then still known as The Hawks]. Written by someone who actually WAS there, who later became a founder member of Alberto Y Lost Trios Paranoias, subsequently obtained a Doctorate in popular music & now teaches cultural studies at the University Of Salford. Recorded and now released for posterity, the gig has gone down in history more for the slow hand clapping & heckling than the incredible performance that Bob & The Band managed to give despite the negative response. This book delves deeper than ever before into Bob's acoustic-to-electric period & the controversy it caused at the time. Containing learned observation as well as pictures & interviews with other people who were there on the night. Essential reading!)
