Named after a large rock formation off the coast of Ibiza that figured in the legend of sorcerer Aleister Crowley, Tago Mago is often cited as the ultimate 'Krautrock' or 'Kosmische' album.

Turning the usual laws of rock/pop inside out, the group placed less emphasis on standard songwriting in favour of sound exploration and rhythm, predicting the focus for the next few decades of psychedelic dance music.
Everyone from The Happy Mondays to Ozric Tentacles, Public Image, Tortoise and Radiohead owed some sort of debt to Can, who drew inspiration themselves from the white light fever of The Velvets, upfront grooves of James Brown and the blissful sound of Dub coming from Jamaica.

Tago Mago sounds astonishing on first press vinyl, German or UK. Attention to detail is heightened... the explosion on 'Mushroom', the 18-minute rhythmic powerhouse of drummer Jaki Liebezeit and bassist Holger Czukay on 'Hallejuah', locked in telepathy...

Condition: -

The textured envelope style sleeve shows a few light storage marks & scuffing at the edges yet all print remains clearly legible including along the spine. The envelope shows barely any use at all.

Both vinyl discs have been professionally cleaned & appear in Excellent condition, with just a few light paper hairline scuffs in a few areas not affecting play. The play grading was a treat as it reminded us just how good this album sounds on vinyl, & this copy is superb! Grab it while you can.
