VAN MORRISON Tupelo Honey (2008 Japanese promo sample issue of the exclusive limited edition 11-track digitally remastered SHM-CD [Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players], issued to radio stations and reviewers ahead of the actual release date. Originally released in 1971 and includes the previously unreleased bonus recordings Wild Night [alternate take] and Down By The Riverside. Custom stamped inner rim on the disc and presented in laminated mini LP-style gatefold card sleeve with fold-out Japanese lyric sheet, English lyric booklet plus promo stickered obi-strip UICY-93433)

The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.
