TINTERN ABBEY Beeside (This '67 psychedelic monster needs little introduction but you just try and stop me! Far-out and highly collectable releases do not get any better than this. Sadly, given its December release date, this psych quartet missed the boat on the 'Summer of Love' and therefore suffered relegation to the one-release wonders list. The guys kick off with a subtle, almost haunting piano riff that quickly escalates into a a balls-to-the-wall freak-fest complete with eerie vocals and backwards guitar. The B-side, Vacuum Cleaner, treats the ears to a stripped down, no-frills vocal extravaganza that oozes an incessant slab o'grooviness and is always a highly regarded dancefloor pleaser and has been the prized track on many a later issued compilation. Right, let's get down to brass tacks; this copy is in VG-/VG condition and displays light paper scuffs, few cosmetic marks and minor evidence of burring with the intact four prong centre showing signs of spindle wear. A play test shows this 7" to still pack a mighty punch with little audible surface noise for the A-side with Vacuum Cleaner exhibiting the odd light crackle most noticeably during the quieter passages; t'is the beauty of heavyweight 60's vinyl pressings. This is your chance to own a very respectable play copy of this uberfine, super rare feast for the ears and an un-missable chance to grab the single that really did deserve to be THE 'Summer of Love' freakout hit!
