MOTT THE HOOPLE Mott (Impossibly rare test pressing for the 1973 UK 9-track LP, with plain white labels & 'S69038 A1/B1' machine stamped in the run-offs. This is the earliest example you will find on vinyl & comes housed in a unique wraparound proof sleeve. The sleeve has the UK layout, colours & the Art Deco/'Future Shock'-style title print in place but comes without the die-cut area or image of the Roman emperor statue head bust. Interestingly, the tracklist & credits on the back are in place yet both the spine number [65640] & front cover catalogue number [70126] appear to have been chosen at random; a rare example of how CBS operated & released their early discs for review! Never sold to the public in this form & more than likely never to be seen again, the vinyl appears near 'as new')
