ROY HARPER Sophisticated Beggar (Rare as rocking horse AUTOGRAPHED 1966 first UK issue 13-track debut mono LP, recorded under primitive circumstances for the tiny Strike label, who operated out of a flat off London's Edgware Road& were prone to recording in converted garage spaces, this album was not distributed well on initial release & sold very little. Now extremely hard to find [this is the first & only copy we have to offer], it is now considered a prime exampleof British Acid Folk, Psych Folk or Wyrd Folk as a whole & a must for the Harper fan. Guest stars a young Ritchie Blackmore on the closing track. The laminated sleeve is signed by Roy on the front in black biro & even comes complete with a wraparound proof sleeve of the album's artwork, the latter virtually impossible to find.
