TOE FAT Toe Fat (Monster Rare 1970 Argentinean promotional 10-track MONO LP, released on Argentina's local Odeon "Pops" branch of Parlophone with song titles in Spanish. Toe Fat's debut is a heavy Psych Rock affair from Britain with John Peel in the producer's chair, led by Cliff Bennett & featuring two future members of Uriah Heep including Ken Hensley. The bizarre Hipgnosis designed cover of the UK version is replaced in favour of a unique photographic shot of a groovy walk downa busy Portobello Road in its heyday, coupled with an eye-catching & psychedelic drawing of a naked lady on the back. 1970 was very late in the day for mono & the labels are custom printed with 'Promocional Venta Prohibida' text across the centre label for review. Few of these were pressed & even fewer would have survived. The cover's colours are beautiful & still rich & vivid. There is a little ring wear due to its thin manufacture & the delicate paper on the back looks remarkable, despite a tiny unobtrusive paper tear top left on the back. The vinyl is a super clean VG+/EX- with merely the lightest bit of surface apparent in the quieter sections during playback, as expected for vinyl over forty-five years of age from these regions. Having spent most of its life on these shores, this is well & truly the best copy you're ever likely to see or hear LDS2176)
