JETHRO TULL This Was (Incredibly Rare Debut 1969 Japanese first press 10-track LP on the two tone 'steamboat' label, issued as part of the 'World New Rock' Series. What makes this series remarkable is that they were issued in a full size die cut slipcase 'obi', each unique to the number in the series [this was No. 2] with cosmic die cut lettering holes on the front which reveals the album cover artwork through the letters, with tracklist & Japanese biography information on the back. This ideal collector's copy has no missing parts & is the first of its kind we have ever seen. The record is housed in a sturdy deluxe gatefold picture sleeve & the large 'obi' has kept it out of sunlight, so there is very few signs of any wear at all. The unique obi design is particularly delicate, & this copy has a couple of light creases to the thin 'arms' & a split but otherwise appears to be in fantastic shape. The vinyl grades Excellent to Near Mint & reveals very little evidence of play at all. A remarkable find SJET-8129)
